We are Emily & Dragos “Dan” Popa, and we are first-generation farmers. We have been homesteading and farming since 2014. Over the years, we have raised guinea fowl, chickens, turkeys, pigs, peafowl, ducks, quail, rabbits, and honeybees in addition to dairy goats. We have also grown our fair share of gardens, fruit trees, berry bushes, and grape vines. Because we learned everything from scratch, we had to try it all! We brought in our first goats in mid-2017, and it was love at first sight. The excitement was overwhelming, and our excitement has only grown. The animals and projects on our small farm vary throughout the seasons, but the dairy goats are here to stay.
We love the delicious creamy milk, the cheese and caramel sauce, the kefir and the ice cream. What has surprised is the most is how much we enjoy milking our goats. “Twice a day, every day, for forever” can be daunting for some folks, but we are naturally homebodies and we enjoy the simplicity of connecting with our beloved goats twice daily.
We are intentional about sharing our love for farming with our two children who absolutely thrive in this setting, consuming the delicious food we produce right here.
